32-hour Medication Aide-Medication Management For Persons Authorized Under The Drug Control Act
Curriculum developed by the Virginia Department of Social Services.
Classes available on a monthly basis and are completed virtually via Zoom. Students are required to complete all hours of the program, pass the final exam, and have their cameras on.
Upon the successful completion of this program, the student will receive a Completion Certificate from Empowering Health Education (EHE). The 32-hour Medication Aide may not work in an Assisted Living Facility. This program DOES NOT qualify participants to take the State Registered Medication Aide (RMA)Exam.**

“Medication Management for persons authorized under the Drug Control Act” is designed to train people who administer medications to the following:

Individuals receiving services in programs licensed by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services

Residents of the Virginia Rehabilitation Center for the Blind and Vision Impaired
-
Residents of a facility approved by the Board or Department of Juvenile Justice for the placement of children in need of services or delinquent or alleged delinquent youth.

Program participants of an adult day-care center licensed by the Department of Social Services

Residents of any facility authorized or operated by a state or local government whose primary purpose is not to provide health care services

Residents of private children’s residential facility, as defined in 63.2-100 and licensed by the Department of Social Services, Department of Education, or Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services

Students in a school for students with disabilities, as defined in 22.12-319 and licensed by the Board of Education
Classes are non-refundable.
