Pharmacy Technician Training Program
Class starting September 4, 2021--Class meets
Saturday and Sunday 130pm-530pm for 9 weeks

Upon the successful completion of the Pharmacy Technician Training Program, the student will receive a Certificate of Completion from Empowering Health Education (EHE). Graduates are then eligible to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE). Upon successful completion of the exam the student is a Certified Pharmacy Technician(CPhT), certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
Pharmacy Technicians work under the direction of a pharmacist. They may measure, mix, count, label, and record amounts and dosages of medications according to prescription orders. Pharmacy Technicians may work in a retail pharmacy or a hospital pharmacy environment. The pharmacy technician’s position may also include administrative and bookkeeping tasks, inventory control, stocking shelves, and data entry. Pharmacy technicians are detail oriented. They often work in a fast-paced environment and need strong customer service skills.
Criteria for Admission:
Driver’s License or State ID
High School Graduate or equivalent
To achieve PTCB Certification, the student must satisfy the following:
Full disclosure of all criminal and State Board of Pharmacy registration or licensure actions
Compliance with all applicable PTCB Certification policies
Passing score on the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam® (PTCE®)
Approved Training Program by the Virginia Board of Pharmacy.
